I purchased the travel insurance and was wondering if there's anyway to keep everything the same and changes the dates. I called into priceline and they told me that the only way this was feasible is if I bid again and keep everything the same but the dates and if they see this they'll refund only one of the two nights, which is ridiculous.... Please let me know if there's any solution to this and once again I did purchase travel insurance for $5 a night thinking this would cover such a situation. If anyone has any information on the best way to solve this, please let me know. Thanks all.
thereuare Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Sorry to hear of your bidding error...I don't really see much that you can do since you agreed to a non-refundable purchase and initialed the bidding screen confirming the dates of your stay. It's not as simple to change your dates with the hotel since they accepted your bid based upon their occupancy levels for the dates that you bid. For instance, occupancy may be low for Sept 21-23 so they accepted your $95 bid... whereas they may have high occupancy levels for Aug 21-23 and very few rooms left, they can't be expected to give you a room for the August dates at a deeply discuonted rates if there are only a few left and they're currently trying to get rack rate for them. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide to do regarding this situation or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Colfax Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 once again I did purchase travel insurance for $5 a night thinking this would cover such a situation. If anyone has any information on the best way to solve this, please let me know.Sorry, msong86, but the travel insurance covers events like weather, illness, and natural disasters. It won't reimbuse you for a typo during bidding. If you still need a room for the August dates I'd accept PRICELINE's offer to rebid again, even if you have to pay for one night. Otherwise you'll be writing off $247. Other bidders have recently reported getting a chance to rebid for $25/night though, not one full night's stay, which is $95 in your case.If you rebid the new dates I don't know if you'll get Andaz again but you'll probably get something for $95-100.Good luck!
