jicms Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 I need to book three nights in the Mount Pleasant, MI area 09/10 - 09/13. There is only one zone and only a choice of 1 or 2* so not much flexibility. Priceline's prices seem quite high for the area/rating, $81 upwards for 2*. What should I start my bid at? Hotwire don't offer Mount Pleasant, only Midland with only one 3* hotel at $104.Thanks.
AaronJB Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 I tend to wonder if there's going to be that much inventory in a smaller market like this, and the deals are generally not as good. I'd try at $50 for a 2*; while that may wind up being a lowball offer, it's worth trying.Additionally, the coupon code SUMMERVIN may work for 15% off some hotels on Orbitz.com.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or Orbitz.com or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
jicms Posted August 15, 2009 Author Report Posted August 15, 2009 I've just won the Baymont Hotel & Suites, Mt Pleasant, MI for $55. Used the PRICELINE link.As we're a party of four adults should I rebid for a second room or contact the hotel to see what room they've allocated us and if necessary upgrade to a suite?
AaronJB Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 I'd call them and work something out. I would not try for another room.

jicms Posted August 16, 2009 Author Report Posted August 16, 2009 ... and thanks for the new addition to the Priceline Hotel List :)Yes it was a 2* and for info. they replied to my query about room sizes:"Thank you for contacting Baymont Inn and Suites Reservations regardingyour request. There are two different suites available. One has a one king size bedwith a whirlpool. This will only allow 2 people, there is no sofa bedsor pull out beds. The second suite has a one king size bed with a pull out couch alongwith a microwave and a refrigerator. This is one large room with the bedon side of the room and an area with the sitting area with the couchthat pulls out."Hopefully this means that I can request the second type of suite. Thanks for all the help.
nick5 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I have stayed at Baymonts before and above is what they have when you ask for a suite. But they also have what they call Business Rooms (expanded desk and few other perks) and they they have regular rooms with two double beds. So,, if that is acceptable,, just request 2 double beds ahead of time. One nice plus of this Baymont is they have a 24 hour pool. That is so rare nowdays. Have fun and and don't forget the casino is nearby and they have a pretty good buffet. Cheryl
