Priceline Hotel: 4* San Francisco (Financial District-Embarcadero) Hyatt Regency

Hi

Does anybody know why there doesn't seem to be any wins in the Marina - Lombard st. zone in San Francisco ?

We would like free parking that most hotels seems to have there. Alternatively I guess we'll take a look at Fisherman's Wharf

With prices as low as they've been, I think most people are gunning for the 4* properties, and there are none in the Marina zone. This is merely speculation, based on past experience.

I think if you want the Marina zone, go for it. But since they're all 2 or 2.5* properties, don't bid too high, too soon.

Marina-Lombard only goes to 2* and most people bid for higher rated hotels in SF.

There's no reason not to bid Marina-Lombard though if you're looking for a basic motel style property with free parking. Don't expect luxury. This is the zone with all the Super 8, Travelodge, and etc. If that's what you're looking for why not try Priceline for a better rate? (Check conventional rates first to be sure you don't overbid.)

Hi

After bidding for Fishermanns Wharf (3,5*) for the last week (up to 100 USD) I went for Embarcadro Financial zone (4*). Startet at 80 and at 90 I was counteroffered 112. Countinued at 92, 94, 96 and got the Hyatt Regency at 98 USD.

Price on Hotel website is 152 so we are quite happy

Our stay is from 9/17 to 9/21
