i booked a Hyatt room with price line, got a great deal, then after discussing it with my girlfriend decided to add a day. on my itinerary i clicked on add a day and it would not give me the same rate, it added about 30 bucks. not a horrible deal considering the savings i have already gotten but i am wondering what my next strategy would be if i wanted to get as low as i did the first time, should i just try an all new reservation, wait a few days and check back at the same link on my itinerary? if anyone has a suggestion let me know

Welcome to BetterBidding, bobby23999.

As a start could you share the details of your Hyatt win--the city, date, and price paid? Then someone will respond to your question about Add a Night. Thanks!

From the Board's Rules and Policies:

While we welcome both positive and negative experiences, please keep in mind that the spirit of this message board is helping users.

If you have a complaint, problem, or question with a recent or upcoming Priceline/Hotwire stay, we will be happy to do what we can to help, but please be considerate of the board's primary goal of helping others and first post the details of your 'win.'

It is important for everyone to know when problems and customer service issues arise, but the majority of the users come here to see winning bid information... so please oblige them with this information before asking for them for help.

Thanks!

I'm afraid you have as many choices as you think you do...

You can only try the 'add a nite' link once per reservation, so trying the link again is not going to be an option. As well, the counter-off of $30 more has probably since expired.

Given PRICELINE's higher counter-offer there is likely a rate change between the nite you booked and the additional nite you are looking to add. You can likely get a win for less than the $114/nite rate that PRICELINE suggested, but you run the risk of receiving a different hotel... would you still want an additional room if it was at a different hotel and you needed to chagne properties?

If you're open to the risk that you may need to change properties during your stay the you could try bidding again and doing better than the $114/nite, but if this is not an option then you can try HOTWIRE and see if what you believe to be the Hyatt is offered and identifiable by the amentieis shown to be associated with the property offered.

If you'd like to proceed (with either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE) please start a NEW TOPIC, let us know which nite it is that you're trying to add, and your thougths regarding the above and we'll advise accordingly.

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
