Gallus50 Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 After months of bidding, finally landed this for a reasonable price. (Kept getting hit with a counter offer of $208 for a 4*. As if.) 4* bids - Napa, N + F, N+F+Son. N+F+Son+Upper Valley - $99, $105, $110, $1153.5* bids - $95 Napa, received counteroffer of $22 more. Declined and bid $102 N +F. Won Marriott Napa Valley. Rack rate seems to be $219, so this is a decent win for a September stay. Hotel looks nice. Rates may go down closer to the date - it is for a Sunday, which is typically easier in Napa and Sonoma - but I'm glad to have this settled. Now I just need to get a good deal in Calistoga for Fri & Sat, when we're attending a wedding....Used BB PRICELINE link.

Colfax Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 Congrats, Gallus50!I see you made use of the new "Upper Napa Valley" zone that PRICELINE introduced a few weeks ago. The new UNV zone really comes in handy because it only goes to 2.5*. Now there's a second free rebid zone (besides Fairfield) for 4* and 3.5* in the other Napa-Sonoma region zones.Enjoy!
Gallus50 Posted July 31, 2009 Author Report Posted July 31, 2009 The extra zone does come in handy.I didn't get the deal of the century, but it's certainly better than $200+. I'm experiencing a little Priceline envy for BobbyBoy's Embassy Suites bid, though. He got a better price at a comparable property , w/breakfast included .....
