mgoes
Priceline bid: 2 rooms for 2 nights at $55 per room/night at the Nh Salzburg Hotel Franz-Josef-Strasse 26 (June 4-6, 2009).The Nh was a very nice, clean and comfortable "boutique" style hotel. The rooms were really stylish, modern and super comfortable. The restaurant was ok, but very pricey. I only ate breakfast there once. There are, however, lots of different places to eat not too far from the hotel...although not all are open late at night or on Sunday. They were also out of parking in the hotel garage, so we had to park in a city garage they have an agreement with that was a few blocks away. While the hotel is not far from some shopping and cafes, it's still not in the heart of where most of what you will want to do is located. We left the car parked in the garage and just walked to the old city to spend the day. When we needed a break, we took the boat tour or relaxed in one of the cafes. One good tip if you stay at the Nh. There's a small grocery on the corner about a block from the hotel. They had many of the souvenir chocolates, etc. you find in the shops in the old city, but a lot cheaper. Another tip, get the Salzburg Card for free entrance to museums, boat ride, etc. Link to comment
