Priceline Hotel: rejected 4* Beverly Hills - West Hollywood for $101

I'm looking to bid for hotels in NYC & LA for around 5 days each for the end of July/early August. I am a big fan of W hotels and the like. Any suggestions of safe routes to go via Hotwire or Priceline to ensure I stay at a comparable hotel without paying full price?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome!

you might want to read this thread: I' ve never used Priceline or Hotwire

If using HOTWIRE, you can use the amenity icons to help identify the hotel prior to purchase. Just match the amenities with those reported on the Hotwire Hotel list on the board. If going the PRICELINE route, before bidding, you need to determine which zone that you are willing to accept then you may want to check BetterBidding's Priceline Hotel list and see if any of the hotels shown are acceptable to you.

Using PRICELINE is a trade off, you might save 50% or more but you won't know the identity of a property before you bid, you are bidding for a hotel with the minimum star rating of your choice, not for a specific property. Using the amenities shown on HOTWIRE, you can often detmine the ID of a hotel prior to purchase.

good luck, please post your NY trip and your LA trip individually.
