International Travel & Priceline?

Hi,

I'm kinda new to using priceline, even though I'm pretty familiar with how the system works. I'm looking for airfare from Detroit (DTW) to Glasgow, UK (GLA) and priceline said I could save about $400 by bidding.

I'm not too concerned about what time I get into the UK, but I might have some problems with the route I go (for visa purposes, I'm not supposed to go through ireland). Has anybody used priceline for international travel? How many connections and lay overs are there usually? It says on the summary page that there is a maximum of 1 connection, but I'm a little apprehensive about how reliable that is. I don't want to go skipping all over the world on some sketchy airlines just to save a few hundred dollars.

If this maximum connection detail is true, then it wouldn't be a problem because detroit doesn't fly out to ireland directly. I'm assuming it would have that connection in newark, amsterdam, or london, but I thought I'd do some research before buying something non-refundable.

If anybody has any experiences, recommendations, or reviews to share, it would help out a ton!

Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Yes, the one conection is true... however, during the bidding option you may be given options that have more than one connection (but you'll be clearly told before and given the decision if you'd like to try that or not)

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know once you're ready to bid or if we can be help with any questions before then.

My son has used PRICELINE several times for trips MSP-AMS. Generally gets USAir, and has been happy with price and routing. NW (and now Delta) have MSP pretty sewed up, so better fares can be hard to find sometimes.

Besure to check the bidding page to ensure that you are bidding for 1 conection before submitting. My experince in DUB was that I had to clear imigration before boarding my outbound flight.

Or Phili, but definatly check that very carefully before purchasing.
