rogerm Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 hello everyone.i'm a first time poster and have tried to format my topic title in accordance with those of other posters'.i used PRICELINE to book a room at the grand hyatt in union square. i won with a bid of $70. total came to $88 a night with taxes. the room was non-smoking, had two beds, was clean and conveniently located near sear's fine dining and the cable cars. only downside was no pool (i was travelling with my 11 year old son), but we were allowed to use the pool at the hyatt in fisherman's wharf.i usually stay at the four seasons which is nicer but also 5x as expensive (usually $350/night). i'm now a true believer in PRICELINE and am looking forward to using it for an upcoming visit to nyc.--roger
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Welcome to the site. Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your win with the board. Glad you are pleased with the results - this is certainly a terrific deal for the Grand Hyatt on these dates! Very nice that the other Hyatt allowed use of their pool. Please post in the NY section if you would like assistance with bidding for that trip - we would be happy to help. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
Colfax Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Please clarify your travel dates, rogerm. It sounds like this stay already happened but the dates in the subject line indicate a future stay. Also the Grand Hyatt is in USE, not USW.
rogerm Posted June 30, 2009 Author Report Posted June 30, 2009 yes, the stay already happened...i was there 6/24-25. and yes, the grand hyatt is in USE. aargh, i'm not as nimble with this stuff as you all! but priceline saved me a lot of $$ and the advice i gleaned from this site was very helpful.
Colfax Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 No problem, rogerm. All fixed now. Glad to hear you find the board helpful.
