Welcome to BetterBidding!

This property has not yet been identified, but i'll ask if you're familiar with and have ever been to the city before? There are lots of parts of this zone that you would not likely want to stay in (and i'm speculating that a 2* hotel may likely fall into one of these areas) as well as the TA info is 3.0/5.0 which is really the absolute minimum that you would want to consider (but hopefully better)

It's also not the most convenient zone for getting around the city.

Is this for a family of 4 or is it a group of 4 friends (2 couples or a guys/girls trip?)

The board would be happy to help you. But please start a new topic for your own stay as this thread will be used to reflect whatever member gtraveler ultimately does for his/her stay.

My backup reservation is with Hampon Inn Madison Square Garden (2* in Tripadvisor). Average per night charge is about 180 for the four of us.

Is this a decent place to stay should I not find a good place to bid on? How about the neighborhood.

(We are my wife and I and our two adult children ages: 19 and 23).

Thanks,

Gil

The link below is a "Stay 4 Nights, Get 2 Free" non-refundable deal w/Starwood Hotels.

Stay 4 nights, get 2 free

Search for NYC for 8/10-8/16 for 3 adults (if you think the 19-year-old can pass for 17 or under) and the Four Points Times Square (which is a new property) appears for $225 per night for 4 nights, 5th & 6th free = $900. Divided by 6 nights = $150 per night average.

HOTWIRE has a 3.5* in Midtown Central for $159 for 8/7-10, with no smoking, fitness, restaurant, business, internet, which would likely be the Sheraton Manhattan.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE link if you decide to book this part, as well.

The per-night average of this plan would be $153.

Yes, I think I'll give at least the first a try. But I am having trouble using your links - and many other links the last few weeks from other sites. I have tried multiple times with both explorer and firefox. Any ideas?
