golfman333 Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Hi everyone I was looking for a good place to stay in long beach ca for a reasonable price. I really did not want to spend more than 60 a night and preferably at the long beach area (Not airport). Looking for dates from 6/26-6/29 or 6/30. Any suggestions? Any tips would be great thanks everyone
golfman333 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 I should have been a little more specific. I definitely would like 3* or higher if possible for under or around that price of 60 dollars a day. Didnt know if I should look at airport zone as well but I would prefer long beach down by the pike and what not. Please let me know of any strategies or suggestions. thanks
thereuare Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Are you willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* or is the goal the least expensive 3* or better? Is $60 your maximum bid price or your 'all-in' (including fees and taxes) price? (if all-in price please let us know your maximum bid price)Are your dates not yet firm, is your check-out date flexible in making this a 3 nite or 4 nite stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. golfman333 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Report Posted June 26, 2009 I'm not very picky but 60 is not my all in price. Just the max of what I wanted to bid. And this may turn into a 4-5 night stay as well. I would def prefer a 3.5* if I could obtain it for even a couple more dollars. Anything within the range of $50-$60 for a 3* to 4* per night (not all in). Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks!
Colfax Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 4* bidding isn't offered in Long Beach. 3.5* is as high as it goes. When bidding for a 3.5* in Long Beach you have one free rebid zone, Long Beach Airport. LB Airport only goes to 3*, so you can safely add it to your 3.5* bids in other zones without risk of winning a hotel in LB Airport zone.I suggest bidding $52 for a 3.5* in Long Beach. Then add your free rebid zone and bid $55.If rejected wait 24 hours and repeat the same at $57 and $60.If those don't work we can give a separate strategy for 3*.If you don't understand free rebidding please ask for more info. Please use this PRICELINE link when you bid. Good luck!
golfman333 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Report Posted June 26, 2009 Ok great I will try that tonight. I will def post what I find and hopefully I get some success! thanks and I will keep you posted
golfman333 Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 So after a lot of trying and no luck for check in on june 27th and check out wednesday july 1 for long beach, ca I finally decided to change my check in day. I was getting no luck with even up to $65 a night in long beach for saturday check in for 3*. So I just decided to check in sunday and got the Hilton Long Beach on Ocean Blvd for $59 a night. This is good because of the location and 3.5*. So it is $279 total for my four nights (checking out thursday) and I am pretty pleased with the win. Of course I used Priceline to book this hotel. Thanks for your suggestions. Finally got a winner!
