travelhelp Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Ok looking for a little help in San Diego. Need 1 room 7/31-8/4 then 2 rooms 8/1-8/4Hotwire lists amenities as 4 Star GaslampFitness Center Pool Restaurant Bus. Center Internet 189 a night 160 reviews The same listing for the rooms on 8/1 arrival but price 199My question is what hotel? Im thinking Westin but which one? and are the odds very good that its the same hotel for both dates so we can all stay together Thx for the help.
thereuare Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! The above is a match for both the Omni and the Hotel Solamar so either of these would be likely, but of the two i believe the one you're most likely seeing is the Hotel Solamar. There is no guarantee that you get the same hotel on each purchase, but if the amenities match, and the tripadvisor information is showing the same star rating and number of reviews and dates of last review, then the odds favor it being the same property. If staying at the same hotel is more important than the risk of one party having to change hotels, you could also make two purchases as follows:8/1-8/4 ... 3 rooms 7/31-8/1 ... 1 roomThis will ensure that everyone is together for 8/1-8/4, and those who arrive the day early ar 'at risk' of a different hotel for the first nite (although you can try to match everything up just as you would if you were making two purchases 7/31-8/4 and 8/1-8/4). Of course, doing the search with this different date combination you'll have to see if this hotel is still the one offered, and to check if it's offered for 3 rooms for 8/1-8/4 and then also for one room the nite of 7/31.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. travelhelp Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 Ok I just won the Westin San Diego for 7/31-8/3 for 2 rooms $630. All of the amenities icon matched perfectly with this pinned board. Another couple is leaving a day earlier so I went back to the web site through the icon on this board. The price went up $20 but all of the amenities icons matched the same as Westin San Diego. So we bid the room and of course the Manchester Grand Hyatt won. For info they did not show tennis golf spa as icons so beware! At 2 out of 3 had the low price win, glass is half full!
thereuare Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Thank you for sharing your win(s) with the board.Sorry to hear not everyone will be at the same hotel, but at least everyone got a great deal and hopefully the different locations won't be too much of an inconvenience. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the price per nite (before taxes and fees) and amenities shown before your purchase of the Westin San Diego, then start a NEW TOPIC for the Manchester Grand Hyatt purchase so that each purchase has it's own thread, the topic title can reflect the win, and each will appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins. You can still view the amenities associated with each purchase by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay(s).
