GM Mike Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 For first time visitors to Chicago who plan to visit several popular tourist destinations, the Chicago CityPass is a great way to save both time and money. For one flat price (currently $68.99 for adults, $58.99 for children), you receive admission to ALL of the following attractions:1. Shedd Aquarium2. Museum of Science and Industry3. Adler Planetarium4. Field Museum5. EITHER Sears Tower Skydeck OR John Hancock Observatory*How it works:- Purchase a voucher in advance, following this link: Chicago CityPass- Bring the printed voucher to the ticket window of the first attraction you visit- Exchange the voucher for an actual CityPass bookletThe booklet contains a set of tickets for the remaining attractions, valid for NINE days, in any order.Aside from the cost savings, CityPass holders skip the ticket purchase line at each attraction - a huge time saver, especially on busy weekends.* Advice: Use the Sears Tower voucher. For the Hancock Observatory, look for the separate elevator entrance to the "Signature Room". There is a no-reservations lounge in the Signature Room, two floors HIGHER than the observatory. One drink minimum, no other admission fee.
GM Mike Posted June 21, 2010 Author Report Posted June 21, 2010 This offer is still available this year, for the same prices. Keep in mind, some of the tickets are VIP level - Aquarium includes 4 exhibits, Museum of Science and Industry includes Omnimax, etc.For the John Hancock Observatory, the restaurant on the 95th floor is offering a buffet lunch this summer, Monday-Saturday, $20 for adults and $11 for children. On Tuesdays through August, the pricing is $15 adults and $10 children. That's the SAME price as general admission to the observatory. In other words, if you go to the Signature Room instead of the Observatory Level, you get lunch for the same price, plus tax and tip! Book a reservation on their website: https://www.signatureroom.com/Reservations/
