GM Mike Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Had won the previous night in this thread. When I used the extend the stay offer at $52, it returned a counteroffer of $79. Rather than risk getting a different hotel by bidding using the normal method, I took the (potentially higher) counteroffer:Sheraton Suites San Diego Downtown San Diego & Harbor Island701 A St San Diego, California 92101 619-696-9800Check-In Date:Sat, Jun 20, 2009 / After 04:00 PMCheck-Out Date:Sun, Jun 21, 2009 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $79.00 Subtotal: $79.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.10 Total Charges*: $97.10 Based on the counteroffers I was receiving when I bid for both nights together, my guess was a bid of $74 would have been a good estimate of what it would take to win this night outright by bidding.Best available rate on website was $165, AAA was $140.25, savings of about 44%.Used the board's PRICELINE link originally.
AaronJB Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Looks like a solid deal for a second night, and while a bit more expensive, seems worthwhile not to have to move hotels.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
