Staying Saturday night prior to Panthers game. Hotel is reportedly 7 blocks from stadium. Have made various bids for 4* since August. This one got accepted on first try.

Your Offer Price: $45.00

Number of Rooms: 1

Number of Nights: 1

Subtotal: $45.00

Taxes & Service Fees:

$12.60

Total Charges: $57.60

However, I have been advised by hotel that parking is $14 a day for self-park and $16 a day valet. We will need to pay for two days of parking due to the game. Others should take note and figure this cost in when comparing downtown hotels. We had the Doubletree booked on a cancellable rate of $75 and the parking was $5 a day. That hotel is 4 blocks. We aren't going to be saving much at the 4* Hilton with priceline after parking - I figure maybe $10, and we will be walking further. Presumably it will be a little nicer.

Just stayed at the Hilton this past Saturday! It's a nice place and very walkable/convenient place to stay for the game!! It's also about 3-4 blocks in the other direction from the stadium from restaurants & bars.

I'd definitely stay again! Also, for those who are curious - the Panther players stay at the Westin the night before the game. The visiting team stays at the Omni. We talked to some police officers about to escort the visiting team to the stadium from the Omni on Sunday a.m.

AND - I found this little trick a few priceline stays ago. Sometimes you *can* find out what Priceline Paid - I'll post this under general priceline tips too. If you have a hotel with the on-TV account information - check that! This worked at the Four Points Sheraton in Charlotte, AND at the Hilton Towers. At the Renaissance in Asheville, it did not work. Anyway, the online account balance at the Hilton showed that Priceline paid a total of $46.54. I bid $45 and with taxes & fees it was $57. So I feel I was probably pretty close to what would have been accepted at $45. Maybe just a little less would have got it also, but at a regular rate of $119 a night, $57 isn't bad!! :)
