dc3 Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Used the PRICELINE link on this site. Bid 4* $57 Loop. Counteroffer for $74. Added O'Hare South and bid $62. Total with taxes and fees is $79. Best rate on Hyatt site with taxes is about $238. That means the PL price is 1/3 of that. Hotwire is asking $92 + fees = $112. This suggests that Priceline is only 2/3 of Hotwire or less. So my rule of thumb becomes - look at Hotwire and take off 1/3 for my first bid on Priceline. The hotel's rack rate is no guide at all.
