dahammer Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 bids at the 3.5* level were rejected up to $69, lowered my star rating to 3* and bid $65 and was accepted immediately.HOTWIRE had a 3* with restaurant and HS Internet for $67, so I probably should have started a bit lower. Still, I'm pleased with the bid as the NJ Transit bus to NYC stops nearby.Your Offer Price: $65.00Taxes & Service Fees: $17.64Total Charges: $82.64
AaronJB Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Congratulations on your success! :)Looks like a terrific deal for this newly renovated Holiday Inn (lowest rate is $159) and glad it will work out well location-wise.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
dahammer Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 Looks like a terrific deal for this newly renovated Holiday Inn (lowest rate is $159)I ended up with a room on the third floor that appeared renovated; it had a flat panel tv with a mini fridge and microwave. Also, new bedding, carpets, wallpaper and tub enclosure. Rooms are large here. I presented my Priority Club card at check in and the clerk said that she can't enter my number because my room was booked through PRICELINE. I asked her to enter it anyway as I can collect points on my incidentals. She did and then presented me with the "priority club" amenity bag: a bottle of water and microwave popcorn, along with a pass for the Buffet breakfast. Nice! I know this place gets some negative reviews, but I've never had a bad stay here, except for an occasional poor WiFi signal. The NJ Transit #320 bus was steps away and round trip bus fare is $6.20 and service is very frequent. The 9:45 am bus arrived at the PABT 10:05 and travels in a "Bus Only" lane though the Lincoln Tunnel, bypassing all the car traffic waiting to get into Manhattan. I was able to "look" at my folio through the in room entertainment system, it appears that PRICELINE paid the hotel $58 for room and tax, so they pocketed a $24 fee for this booking. Nice!
