Dio Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 This is my first post so I hope I'm going to get it right :) Trying to ID on Hotwire, $109 a night (before Tax) for 2 Adults, 2 Children (15 &9) stopping for 4 nights 7/22 - 7/26Showing: Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Internet. I'm guessing this is going to be the Sheraton who charge $170 a night on their website? Just wondering if I would get a better deal on Priceline though?
Alkoflo Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Hi,Tripadvisor rating for your search matches the Sheraton.I would try to get a better deal on PRICELINE . In the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins you can see that there is already one win at fishermans wharf for your dates. It's the Hyatt for 67$/night. Don't forget to use the HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links and let us know your win.
Dio Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 Thank you. Should I be concerned with PRICELINE only offering accomodation for 2 adults and asking for arrangements to be made for 2 queen/double beds direct after winning? Bit cautious about paying first then confirming the kids have somewhere to sleep :)
thereuare Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Should I be concerned with PRICELINE only offering accomodation for 2 adults and asking for arrangements to be made for 2 queen/double beds direct after winning?Yes, it's a legitimate concern... you have to weigh the risk of receving a room with only one bed (and any other risks involved of booking double occupancy when you'll be quad occupancy) vs. the potential savings. Some people aren't comfortable with the risk... others take the chance.Part of the decision is how you would handle the situation if you were to receive a room with only one bed and the hotel unable, or unwilling, to give you a two bedded room. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and/or what you decide or if we can be of further help. Dio Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 Not sure what to do, my budget is $140 per night so the Sheraton is still ok, but think the Hyatt may be nicer. I suppose if I end up losing $300 by booking the Hyatt and not getting 2 beds it will be a lesson learnt but won't let it ruin our first trip to to the west coast! Will post back later!
Dio Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 I think we've decided to try HOTWIRE, but the price has gone up to $166 :) and it still looks like the Sheraton so I'll keep an eye on it and post back when we book...
Colfax Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Checking 2 adults/2 children, which guarantees 2 beds, Hotwire also has these in Fishermans's Wharf:3* at $89, looks like Holiday InnRestaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry2.5* at $108, looks like Holiday Inn ExpressBreakfast, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessHoliday Inn Express reviews are excellent (better than some of the higher rated hotels) and free breakfast is a nice bonus. Holday Inn Express is also the newest hotel in Fisherman's Wharf.
AaronJB Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Do you have to be in the Fisherman's Wharf area? Orbitz has the Orchard Garden for $149.93 (on sale from $230) + use coupon code deal0hotel for an additional 10% off. That is one of the best-reviewed hotels in the city (#15 on tripadvisor out of 250 hotels in San Fran), and this would be for a 1BR w/2 beds. Please use the Orbitz.com link if this idea is of interest.
