laxgriffin Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Hotwire has a 3* Dt for 49. seems really low. havent seen something comprable on the board. Any thoughts.And there is a 3* in FQ for $79 havent seen a match on that one either.just how far is DT from the action. is it a big deal to be there?
indywaiter Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Downtown is just fine. It and the French Quarter are separated by Canal Street. Most downtown hotels are close to canal st. Im sure you can get either hotel cheaper on PRICELINE. Staying in the FQ is better but if you are healthy the walks from the CBD (downtown) and super easy. New Orleans is the best place in america to eat. ENJOY.
swag Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 At the 4* level, I'd be comfortable with downtown. The 4* DT hotels are all very nice and well located fairly close to the Quarter. I'd be a bit more hesitant at the 3* level. Some of the known 3* DT hotels are somewhat out of the way, and a few have some pretty mediocre reviews on TripAdvisor.
