Unfortunately, this hotel has not been positively identified yet, but I believe this could be the Holiday Inn Long Island City Manhattan View. The hotel's website indicates the pool is temporarily closed, however.

I'd prefer to be in Manhattan (quick sightseeing trip, taking the BoltBus in from Boston) but I am trying to explore some potentially cheaper options. Right now, I'm thinking I might try to PL the Westin in Jersey City which it looks like people have been getting for under $100.

I think waterfront area around Jersey City is a 'nicer' area than Long Island City and it would also be easier to get to from the Bolt Bus, however, you won't be able to specifically target the Westin as there are other 4* hotels in this zone (most notably the Hyatt and the new not yet reported W Hoboken is a possibility as well)
