signcycle Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Can anyone help identify the following hotel in San Francisco $79 4* South SFO International airport Burlingame with the following amenities:Shuttle; fitness; pool; restaurant; business; internet; golf. Our dates are 7/18/09 - 7/22/09 with 2 adults and 2 children. This is my first time posting - so I hope I'm doing this correctly!! Thanks for all your help!
thereuare Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Welcome to BettterBidding! The above is a match for the Embassy Suites so that would be our best guess. There are a few other properties which are close, but either have an extra amenity icon or are missing an amenity icons from above, so the ES would be our best guess. However, icons are subject to change, so if this is the hotel you really want (i'm thinking it might be due to the breakfast and extra space for the four of you) you may want to consider chaning your search criteria to 3adults/1child which brings up an alternate offering, which happesn to be an alternate amenity combination for the Embassy Suites:Suite, Oceanfront, Shuttle, Restaurant , Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Complimentary Breakfast, Kitchenette, Business, Golf, LaundryThis is amenity combination is a bit more unique than the previous one, so have a bit more confidence that it is the Embassy Suites (vs. the bit of doubt i have on the other one). As well, this 3adults/1child search also shows a TripAdvisor rating of 3.5/5.0 with 140+ reviews, which is consistent with the Embassy Suites, which increases our confidence that this is likely the hotel you're seeing. The downside? Search for 3adults/1chid is about $8 more expensive per nite than the 2adult/2child search, so it's up to you if having a bit more knowledge/confidence is worth the extra money or not. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. sfntvintx Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Just one more tip: Always double check the Trip Advisor rating. A hotel with the exact same icons came up about a week ago and I thought, Hey, it's the Embassy Suites. Cool. Then I looked at the Trip Advisor rating and it was rated a 3. I can't remember the number of reviews, but could tell it was definitely NOT the Embassy Suites. Still not sure what hotel it was.
sfntvintx Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Just to follow up on this, I put my dates in again with 2 adults, 2 kids. A rate of $69 came up with the same icons: Shuttle; fitness; pool; restaurant; business; internet; golf. Trip Advisor review of 3 based on 60 reviews, last reviewed May. That doesn't sound like Embassy Suites, but it doesn't match any Burlingame hotel.

signcycle Posted June 2, 2009 Author Report Posted June 2, 2009 Thanks for the tip about changing the # of adults and children. I tried the 3 adults 2 children idea, but I am not seeing any 4* with breakfast and suites. Can you tell me if it's still there, or am I doing something wrong?
thereuare Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 I tried the 3 adults 2 children idea...HOTWIRE only allows you to search for up to quad occupancy, when you put in 3adults/2children they automatically change your search to 2rooms... what happens if you try searching HOTWIRE for 3adults/1child?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. signcycle Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 Thanks for your help. We decided to book with the Marriot at Fisherman's wharf directly through the hotel as we wanted to gaurantee 2 queen beds for our extended stay.
