heather56 Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 Hi I'm brand new to Priceline so ay help you can give will be greatly appreciated!I have just got a brilliant one night deal at the Hyatt Miami so have decided to try for 7 nights at a hotel in Orlando. We preferably want to stay in the Universal-SeaWorld area as we have seen that the JW Marriott is here. However I have had 3 bids turned down so far and am waiting 24hrs each time b4 I can rebid, looking at other boards I understand their is a quicker way of re bidding. However I want to make sure we get a decent standard of hotel ideally in this location and dont want to risk any thing else.Is this possible? Does any one know which hotels are in the 4* or resort category in the orlando areas? Thanks for your help in advance
torinsmom Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 You can look at the list in the sticky above to see what hotels have been reported in each area.I don't know about 4*, but I got the 3* Hyatt Place Orlando for $30/night in July. It is 1/4 mile away from Universal. I just bid for a 3* in the Universal/Sea World area.Good luck!Marsha
whenpigsfly Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 You have to be careful bidding in this area because the Wyndham which is 3.5 star is an older property and not well regarded in its reviews on trip advisor. I'd check out all the hotels in each quality level on trip advisor before bidding... The 3 star Hyatt place seems to be coming up alot and if you can get that for cheap (like $30/night) its a Killer deal and likely better than most if not all of the 3.5 star properties (except that it dosent have a great pool) based on its reviewsI've been looking at this zone for a Family vacation for a couple of weeks now. Remember to factor in that you may likely be charged a resort fee on top of your bid when you check in even if you bid it out on Priceline.
gatorsr1 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 Of course it all depends on when you are going. But generally you should have no problem getting a 4*/resort for around $80/night-sometimes a little cheaper. I have had luck with the Gaylord Palms (which is a resort) in the last two months for $79/night on seperate dates. I have also seen the Hilton in Downtown Disney for around $65/night.Good luck
