acrossthesky08 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Hello, Could someone please help me ID the following hotel:LA DOWNTOWN - 7/12 to 7/15Rating: 3.5*Price: $74Amenities: Fitness, Pool, Restaurants, Business Centre, Hi-Speed InternetThanks in advance!
yellowdog Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Best guess for this hotel would be Wilshire Grand. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes.Yellowdog.PS. If you have made any progress on your Las Vegas Hotel stay please update that thread.
acrossthesky08 Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 Thanks yellowdog! I just looked up that hotel on tripadvisor and it is listed as a 3* so are HOTWIRE star ratings inaccurate?
yellowdog Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 HOTWIRE and TA don't use the same grading system. So you shouldn't use TA * rating to determ/ID hotels. Yellowdog.
acrossthesky08 Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 Hi, just wanted to share my (unexpected) successful bid at PRICELINE (used the PRICELINE link). My first bid of $85 for a 4* was accepted and I got the Omni.Is this a good hotel? Did I get a good price? It was my first bid so should I have bid lower..?Also, does anyone know about how I can get a single king bed and parking?Lastly, is it worthwhile booking attractions like Universal Studios admission with PRICELINE?Many thanks!!
thereuare Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Congratulations on your success! We'll never know if this was available for any less, but regardless, this is a very nice deal as the hotel direct rates start at $225+ for these dates :)You can call the hotel and ask them enter a request for your room type preference (King bed, smoking/non-smoking, etc). Regarding parking, i don't know the area, but i suspect parking at the hotel will be somewhat costly. When you call for your bed-type request you can ask how much parking is at the hotel and if there are any other options (including street parking) in the area.... or somebody else here familiar with the area may be able to offer some insight.Hope you're happy with the results and this works well for your plans.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Colfax Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Lastly, is it worthwhile booking attractions like Universal Studios admission with PRICELINE?Booking Universal as an add-on to your Priceline reservation is convenient. I don't know if it's the cheapest. If you'll post the rate PRICELINE advertised for Universal Studios maybe someone here will know of a promotion or coupon that beats it.
thereuare Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Besides PRICELINE you should check out Viator for booking events and attractions. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
