dgroet Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 White Plains, June 17-19.Hotwire lists 3* in Tarrytown-White Plains, and a 2.5* in Tarrytown-White plains. One of the other topics in the hotwire/priceline forum lists teh 3*'s as the Crown Plaza and the Hampton, and teh 2.5 as the LaQuinta. I'm thinking hte Crown Plaza is what I'm going to end up with, as one of the symbols is for an on-site restaurant. I don't want to choose the 2.5* for fear of getting the LaQuinta. What I really want is the Hampton. Does anyone have any thoughts, or has anyone recently booked a room in White Plains and gotten teh Hampton?I don't want the Crown Plaza b/c they charge for parking, internet, and there's no breakfast. I don't want the LaQuinta because of prior issues with that chain in other locations.Thanks.
dahammer Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Welcome! Please post the star rating and all of the amenities for each property, we will attempt to identify these for you.

Just don't know on the 2.5*. According to Priceline, it would be the hampton, but hotwire lists it as being the LaQuinta.Thank you for your help.
dgroet Posted May 11, 2009 Author Report Posted May 11, 2009 Has anyone received the Hampton Inn in White Plains recently? It's a 2.5*. We typically only stay at Hampton's when we travel and really want this particualr hotel, esp. b/c of it's breakfast.

What are the rates that you have been quoted? There have been several reported PRICELINE wins in this area for around $55.

If you really want this property, the "free breakfast" and room will cost you about $200 after taxes.

If you really want this property, the "free breakfast" and room will cost you about $200 after taxes.I'm aware that you can't target a specific hotel. With the information available to everyone here, it's quite possible to identify a hotel by the amenities listed. As for the particular hotel in question.... based on the info available in the Hotwire and Priceline Hotel list forum, the same hotel is listed as 2.5* and a 3*. As for LaQuinta; no thanks. The free breakfast is a deal breaker for us, no matter what. I did not call the Crown Plaza for their breakfast prices, but I did call the Courtyard. The Courtyard wants $11.95/adult and $6.95 child for breakfast. For a family of 6, that adds another $52. A lot of cash for the little that will get eaten.Looking for June 17-19. Anyone bid on a 2.5* in White Plains/Tarrytown recently and receive this hotel?
dahammer Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Looking for June 17-19. Anyone bid on a 2.5* in White Plains/Tarrytown recently and receive this hotel?the frequency of reported wins for this property is low, use the advanced search function using "tarrytown" as the search term and you will get your answer faster.PRICELINE ratings can differ from HOTWIRE ratings by as much as a full star. Getting a complimentary breakfast for 6 would be great, but since you can't target a property when bidding on PRICELINE and the only HOTWIRE listing that meets your deal breaker is likely the LaQuinta, then you don't have too many options except waiting it out in hopes the Hampton will appear on HOTWIRE or book directly with the hotel. I'm a big fan of Hampton Inn as well, if I could target them through PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, I would be thrilled. I agree, $52 for breakfast plus tax and tip is high. When breakfast is not included, we will hit McDonalds or just get some juice, donuts and fruit/yogurt. The kids will forget breakfast, but will remember the indoor pool anyway. :)
