whenpigsfly Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Were trying to pull together a family vacation for early June including Orlando as well as a two night stay possibly in coco beech Its four of us. Three adults and one 8 year old so when i saw a two .I spoted a property that i havent been able to figure out what it was but it intrigues me. We've never booked a condo on hotwire before and don't know quite what to expect- maybe it could be a timeshare property selling excess inventory?heres the details:Dates searched 6/5-6/7Coco Beach -caneveral area 2.5 star amenities: condos, beachfront, 2bedroom suite, fully equiped kitchen, smoke free rooms, pool, 24 hr desk, laundry.Any idea what property this is?
yellowdog Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I just made a HOTWIRE search for your dates 6/5-6/7. 3 adults/1 child in Cocoa Beach - Cape Canaveral. But i can't get the condo to appear. Your original search was for 3 adults/1 child and 1 room? Can you still see it offered at HOTWIRE?Yellowdog.
whenpigsfly Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 I must have originally searched using only one person..when I search using anything more than one person it goes away.Wow is that bizzare???...If you search for anything other than just one adult its not there....so I have to ask this ...what would just one person need a two bedroom condo for?So if I buy it using a search for only one person can they levy additional charges or hassle me for having two additional adults and one child?Thanksthanks for taking a look!!!
thereuare Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 So if I buy it using a search for only one person can they levy additional charges or hassle me for having two additional adults and one child?Could they... yes.Would they if you're double occupancy... doubtful.Would they if you're quad occupancy... possibly.Do you need the amenities of a condo for this trip? You could book a similalry rated hotel room for quad occupancy for less than the price of the condo, or if you need the space, would the Melbourne Beach area work for your plans... you can book 2 rooms at a higher rated hotel in that zone for less than the price of the one condo above. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. whenpigsfly Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 The condo ammenities could be nice but I do see what your talking about is likely the Crowne Plaza in Melbounre Beach does look like a nice place. We like the idea of being in cocoa beach more than melbourne but we could deal with Melbourne. Any ideas what he condo property might be or is it a mystery until someone hits it?
thereuare Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 This property has not yet been identified, but if i were to take a guess i'd think the Wakulla Suites would be among the possibilities. If you book this property for double occupancy you can do better by booking direct thru Orbitz (please use our link) and using discount code: deal0hotel for an extra 10% off... if you book for quad occupancy the hotel doesn't appear on HOTWIRE and the rate goes up on Orbitz (to ~$150/nite) Given this is a condo property not sure how the double vs. quad occupancy would work out. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (or Orbitz if you go that route)Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. yellowdog Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 whenpigsflyif you don't go with the condo, can i recommend the Crowne Plaza in Melbourne Beach. I have stayed at this hotel several times via HOTWIRE. Nice rooms and very fair priced food/drinks for being a beach property.Yellowdog.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
whenpigsfly Posted May 12, 2009 Author Report Posted May 12, 2009 3.5 Melbourne Beach $48 2 rooms Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront 6/5/2009 2 nightsWell the ammenity icons were:BeachfrontFitnessPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed InternetI booked this thinking it was the Crown Plaza but saw the shuttle link wasn't appearing No worries it sounds like a nice. Tripadvisor was pretty decent on this hotel. Looks like all the rooms have a ocean view (which wouldnt have been the case at the Crowne Plaza as I understand it)Used the HOTWIRE link provided. Thanks!!Please add to the hotel list. And please consider giving Melbourne and Melbourne beaches a separate listing from the extended Cocoa Beach listing.
thereuare Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List... the reviews look great. The Melbourne zones are part of the Cocoa Beach region, which why it's listed as "Cocoa Beach (Melbourne Beaches)".Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay. whenpigsfly Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 "The Melbourne zones are part of the Cocoa Beach region, which why it's listed as "Cocoa Beach (Melbourne Beaches)".When one goes to the hotel list looking for Melbourne beach it is difficult to find because it is listed as you stated above. Please consider adding a heading under M in the hotwire hotel listings that might say Melbourne Beach (see Cocoa Beach-Melbourne Beaches). Thanks
