gtpdiddy Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Hi everyone,I'm new here and have been reading the NYC hotel list and bidding strategy. With $105 I've selected almost all central manhattan and 3.5+ hotels and still no luck. Any suggestions? I can check out on 5/15 if i can get a deal. My max bid is $110.Thanks!GT
thereuare Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Have you bid for the 2 nite stay already or just the 3 nite stay? Exactly which zones, by PRICELINE name, did you include in your bidding? What is your gameplan if you're not successful at $110 or less for a 3.5* better hotel? gtpdiddy Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 I've tried both 2 nite and 3 nite stay. MTE, MTW, central park south, TS, madison sq, chelsea, SOHO. I don't want to pay higher than $110. Is that realistic?
dahammer Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 What is your gameplan if you're not successful at $110 or less for a 3.5* better hotel?please reply
gtpdiddy Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 I may have to crash with a buddy which is not ideal given I have 2 interviews on those days. Any help would be appreciated.Gilbert
thereuare Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 At the moment, my guess is that you're going to have to increase your maximum bid up towards $125/nite to have success at the 3.5* level (or 3* level)Another option is on HOTWIRE there is a 2.5* property in the ESB zone for $118/nite with Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business which is the amenity combination previously used wtih the Hampton Inn on 35th St. Assuming this is the correct ID for this property, while 'only' a 2.5* rated property, the reviews are good, and it includes breakfast, perhaps you could make this property work for your needs? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and/or how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. gtpdiddy Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 Thanks for the advice. I just managed to bid successfully for $120 for 3.5+ in MTE,MTW,TS and got Milennium Hotel at TS from 5/13-5/15. I may try to extend my stay if the hotel is nice.GT
thereuare Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you were successful at not much more than you previous bid amounts. It wasn't clear from your post above, but can you add a reply confirming that the hotel you received is the Millenium Broadway (as opposed to the Millenium UN in the MTE zone)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. gtpdiddy Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 It's Millennium broadway. I tried to edit my prev post but it didn't show up. Never stayed in this hotel ... what's the feedback been? I hope I get a good view of Times Sq!
