elmogs Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 I tried Priceline for the first time. The rejection was not sweet.Ist bid for a 4 star in Kensington $702nd added Mayfai $723rd added Bloomsbury $76Nothing. I am hoping to get into the Holiday Inn Forum in Kensington but no luck. Anyone know if their Priceline rates went up? I got a counteroffer for $94 US per night and I think that may have been for the Holiday Inn but then again..who knows? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
WillTravel Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 What dates are you looking for? I think the rates might have gone up - I haven't seen anyone get the $64 I got in February. My suspicion is that this counteroffer is *not* for the HI Kensington Forum, but a 4* in either Bloomsbury or another one in Kensington.

elmogs Posted September 20, 2004 Author Report Posted September 20, 2004 Hello! Thanks for the welcome. :)The dates that I selected were for October 21-25th.The 4* wasn't for Kensington Holiday Inn you dont think? I got this counteroffer when I went and tried my first bid with Kensington 4* location selected only.Help!
thereuare Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 I have no reason (or evidence) to believe that the Holiday Inn has raised their rate. Although this hotel appears frequently, there are also other 4* rated hotels in the zone that this could be and i think you should be prepared to accept any of them (or a new one) if you continue to bid.If you can accept any 4* hotel in the zone let us know and we'll be happy to suggest a strategy on how to proceed. elmogs Posted September 20, 2004 Author Report Posted September 20, 2004 Ok. I had my heart set on the Kensington Forum. :)If you can help me out with a strategy on this that would be great. I cannot bid until Wednesday evening so we can bounce some ideas off of each other till then. Many thanks for the replies to all of you.
