Got this on my first bid

Your Offer Price: $60.00

Taxes & Fees: $16.80

Total Charges: $76.80

the best rate online was $169, and with free Breakfast, Parking, and WiFi, I am thrilled with winning my first Residence Inn.

Made my bids through the PRICELINE links on the board.

on weekdays, the Residence Inn serves a complimentary light dinner and has $2 beers, but I opted for take out at nearby Portugal Barbecue on Clark Place in Elizabeth. A small chicken is cut up and grilled over an open pit of hardwood coals in a rotating wire rack and served with fries and rice or steamed veggies for $12. Enough for two, a good cheap dinner.

This is absolutely the best hotel value in the vacinity of the Newark Airport. The property is a newer property and is fairly spotless, rooms are large and are like a small studio apartment with a two burner stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, pots and pans, and plates, utensils, glassware, etc. It offers a free airport shuttle and the hotel sells discount NJ Transit train tickets to NYC for $25 per person. It is a convoluted trip that I would not recommend: shuttle to the airport, air-train to Newark Penn Station, NJ Transit Train to NY Penn Station. If I could only stay here, I might be inclined to overbid. :)

Just wanted to voice a second opinion staunchly advocating the same. Newer, rather clean, spacious rooms, free parking/internet/airport shuttle, comfortable bedding, decent fitness area, indoor heated pool - a little of everything. Best value for any Newark stay, hands down. Happy trails...

Have to give that dinner a try this week...now to just figure out where/what to bid lol.

this place is a real hole in the wall, but just a short drive from the hotel at 207 Clark Place. I've only had the whole grilled chicken or the grilled chicken sandwich, but there is beef and seafood on the menu. The Elizabeth and Newark area have a ton of Portuguese and Spanish restaurants, the nearby Ruby Tuesday's gets all of its business from the nearby hotels, they wouldn't survive on just the locals. There is a good take out pizzaria in Elizabeth called "Santillo's" that uses a brick oven and thin crust.
