Living Out of a Suitcase Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 1st bid was $65, Priceline came back with a message saying I could resubmit the same bid if I increase bid by $17. I took it as a hint they would accept my offer and they did.$82 for a friday night during Jazzfest is a good price. Expedia has the same hotel for $219.$82 for 4/24/09
yellowdog Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Thank you for sharing your win with the board :) Looks like a very nice deal! Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Yellowdog.
famofive Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Wow, you were lucky. I just started at $82 and bid up to $92 in $2 increments and was turned down. I do see the Intercontinental on Hotwire for $99 on Friday and $126 on Saturday, so I may just do that. Thanks for posting your win, though.
famofive Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 I just wanted to confirm that my bids yesterday from $82-$92 were for Friday night only. I am going to try again today, but not feeling too optimistic since the $99 rate on hotwire that I presume was the Intercontinental has increased to $137. I should have jumped on it yesterday.
indywaiter Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Bookit.com has a "mystery" 4 star FQ hotel that I think is the Astor Crowne Plaza for $109 per night. I would try priceline first but if Priceline fails bookit could be a nice back up. Keep us informed...
famofive Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Thanks for the information. Did I miss it? I see a 3* mystery hotel for $119, but not a 4* for $109.
