dc3 Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Tried for 3.5* at up to $70 with no success. Then saw that Sheraton is sold out on last night on their own site. Went down to 3* and the lowest bid that was accepted was $43. Lowest rack price I can find in US$ is $121. This hotel has the best write-up from Priceline in Hamilton. Used the link on the Better Bidding page and passed around the suggestion as many of us are doing the same trip. The Marrriott is not downtown but there is a transit bus that takes 15 minutes and some people say that the hotel has its own shuttle.
AaronJB Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Congrats on your success. Thank you for posting your win and for letting others know about the site. Given that this appears to be a busy time in the area (if other hotels are sold out), this certainly seems like a great deal. The hotel website should have the details of if a shuttle service is offered.A big thanks for using the site's PRICELINE link to start your purchase, as well.Enjoy your stay.
dc3 Posted April 20, 2009 Author Report Posted April 20, 2009 The hotel desk told me: (1) there is no shuttle to downtown but the city bus is fine ($2.50 per trip or $1.85 in 5 trip tickets) and (2) Priceline guests receive the smaller rooms that have one king bed and a sofa bed and there is no alternative. So if there are two people not sharing a bed someone gets to sleep on the sofa, which reminds me of staying with in-laws.
