seabass Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Hi - I'm new to this site... wish I had known about it years ago... its fantastic!I'm currently looking for a hotel north of San Francisco, to do some exploring in wine country. I'm looking at Santa Rosa hotels on Hotwire.I see an offer for a 4 star hotel in Santa Rosa - Rohnert Park - Petaluma.Ammenities are:- smoke free- fitness centre- pool(s)- restaurants(s)- laundry facilities- high speed internet access- golf nearbyCost is $85 a night (check in May 17, check out May 19)The room also gets a 4 out of 5 from TripAdvisor, based on 60+ reviews. Before I knew about this site, I could generally figure out Hotwire hotels from the description and TripAdvisor... but this one is stumping me! I think I will blame it on lack of sleep with my baby wink.gifAny help would be appreciated!!!
yellowdog Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I did a search for your dates. But i can't get the same hote to appear. How many people did you search for? Do you still see the hotel?Yellowdog.
seabass Posted April 13, 2009 Author Report Posted April 13, 2009 I just tried the search again, and the same hotel description still comes up.I'm searching for 2 rooms - not sure if that makes a difference? Thanks for the help!!!
yellowdog Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Yes, 2 rooms make a big diffrence :) I can get a clean match for the hotel. A guess would be Fountaingrove Inn. But that is just a guess. But with the great TA rating would it be no problem when it comes to quality. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes.Yellowdog.
seabass Posted April 13, 2009 Author Report Posted April 13, 2009 Thanks Yellowdog!I used the link you provided... and the booking ended up being the Sheraton Sonoma County. Not what I was expecting, but I'm still very happy with it and the price. It actually gets a 3.5 from TA (not the 4 that Hotwire stated) but I've read through the reviews, and there are a few "exceptional" circumstances that seem to have brought the rating down - most people are very pleased with their stays there.Should I post the details of my booking somewhere else on the board?Looking forward to my trip!!!
yellowdog Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Thank you for sharing your result with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to book this :) Can you please post the final price for the hotel.Great to see that you're happy with the hotel. Sorry that my guess wasn't that good :) This Sheraton has been reported to the board before. But with diffrent amenities and rated 3.5*. I took a look at the hotel and it looks really nice. I would take the TA reviews with a grain of salt. I think you got a nice hotel for a good price.I have edit the topic so you don't have to post elsewhere.Enjoy your stay!Yellowdog.
seabass Posted April 14, 2009 Author Report Posted April 14, 2009 Thanks again Yellowdog! The final price was $85 per night, plus taxes - final total was $392 for two rooms for two nights.
