Hotwire Hotel: Looking for a 4* in the Gaslamp District

I will be in the San Diego area from 4/30 to 5/2. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Given the choice would you prefer one 4* room with two beds for $125, or two 3* rooms for $60 each? Four adults sharing one bathroom and shower can be tight.

i was hoping for a 4 or higher star.... im a young guy so i was really looking at a hip place like a hard rock or are there any places like it?

Priceline and Hotwire don't offer 5* in San Diego. 4* is the highest.

There's a W Hotel in downtown San Diego but it doesn't come up much on Hotwire. It's in the Downtown-Harbor Island zone.

There's also a Hard Rock, but it's never been reported won on Hotwire. If you want one of those two you'll probably have to book conventionally.

Any of the 4* hotels you'd get in Gaslamp-Convention Center zone would be within short walking distance of W, Hard Rock, and a whole bunch of clubs.

When you check Hotwire for your dates, searching on "4 adults/0 children" (which guarantees two beds), what 4* options do you see in the Downtown-Harbor Island and Gaslamp-Convention Center zones?

Or check for 2 rooms with "2 adults/0 children" if you prefer that arrangement.

If you'll post the icons you see someone will try to identify the hotels.
