Priceline Hotel: 4* Redwood City-San Carlos Sofitel San Francisco Bay

First bid of $68 won the 4* Sofitel in Redwood City. Taxes/fees came to 15.64.

I really wanted to stay in the Sofitel and it worked out with PL since they only had one 4* in that area (HW had three 4* hotels in their larger area designation). Current Sofitel online price is $130 but earlier in the week the online rates $78

It looks like Priceline has adjusted some zone boundaries and the Sofitel was moved from the San Mateo zone (part of the SF zone cluster) into the Redwood City-San Carlos zone (part of the San Jose zone cluster).

This is nice because each zone only has one 4* hotel now and you can target the hotel you want. The Marriott's still in San Mateo zone and the Sofitel's in RC-SC.

San Jose bidders take note: Redwood City-San Carlos is no longer a free rebid zone for 4* or 3.5* bidding in San Jose.
