Haute Mama Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 i am looking to make a trip 5/5-5/8 and am coming up with the following:i am just making an educated guess here: 4* perimeter with fitness, pool, restaurant, internet and spa--i assume this is the W perimeter for $76 night before fees.as for the 3.5* in perimeter fitness, pool, restaurant, business center for $83 night--again another assumption that this is the Westin Perimeter, or the Crowne Plaza? based upon what i have read the two hotels above have gotten very mixed reviews, in particular the W. i am a bit leary and don't want to end up in a horrible place, esp. since it is supposed to be a romantic trip.any thoughts and/or experiences would be great! thanks in advance.
yellowdog Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Please follow-up your previous Hotwire Orlando thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay... then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above.Yellowdog.PS. Please allways follow-up your threads :) , even if not going!
Haute Mama Posted April 8, 2009 Author Report Posted April 8, 2009 followed up--didnt end up booking a room so i didnt realize i needed to follow up......now i know and have done so.
Haute Mama Posted April 8, 2009 Author Report Posted April 8, 2009 i wonder if i would have more luck trying to win the Hyatt Place in Perimeter which it seems people have been getting around here alot lately. I was trying to get a nice room for a romantic few days but not break the bank in the process.
AaronJB Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Oddly, it seems like a lot of hotels in the Atlanta area get mixed reviews. Not sure why this is.If you want a specific hotel, then PRICELINE isn't a good choice, as given the way the service works, there's a strong chance you'll be disappointed. You can guess which hotels are showing on HOTWIRE, but that isn't 100% guaranteed. The Wyndham Garden Hotel Downtown gets some mixed reviews, as well, but it's $87 per night with the third night free on Expedia - $58 bucks average per night for 3 nights - can't beat that. Please use the site's Expedia.com, HOTWIRE. or PRICELINE links.
Thelonious Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I'm very familiar with this area and the hotels on Hotwire. If you are looking for a romantic location, I'd recommend the Westin first (3.5*) and the W second (4*). The Westin is located next to a very large man made pond with a fountain which makes for a nice view. Ask for that side of the building as the other side faces the highway. The W is located next to a mall. Both are nice hotels with good room service. I haven't had problems with either. You have to pay to park at the W, not at the Westin. Hope that helps.
