michellecmc Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 4* hotel in SeaWorld - Mission Bay - Shelter Island, $140 - 4/17-4/19Amenities: Resort, Near Beach, Oceanfront, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet AccessNeed help identifying the hotel. I searched with 2 adults and 2 kits on HOTWIRE.
michellecmc Posted April 5, 2009 Author Report Posted April 5, 2009 I have searched through your HOTWIRE link and identified several possible properties. I am hoping with your help to identify the possible hotels these might be. I would prefer a hotel with two queen beds versus two double beds so I am hoping you might be able to advise me as which ones to avoid or even locations (for example, stay away from Sea World area as the property listed could possibly be an Embassy suites or Marriot which would have two doubles). Here are the possibilities:4-star hotel in Gaslamp Quarter - Convention Center - $99 Fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, internet, tennis 4-star hotel in Downtown - Harbor Island - $121 Fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, internet4.5-star hotel in Downtown - Harbor Island - $165 Fitness, restaurant, internet - I find it hard to believe this doesn't have a pool listed, is that possible?4-star hotel in SeaWorld - Mission Bay - Shelter Island - $140 Resort, Near Beach, Oceanfront, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, internet - Being listed as a Resort might there be an additional resort fee no included in the Hotwire price?4-star hotel in La Jolla Area - $128 Pool, rest, business center, internet, tennis 3-star hotel in La Jolla Area - $95 Non-smoking, complimentary breakfast, rest, business center, laundry, internetThank you for your assistance as I have never tried HOTWIRE before!
AaronJB Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 If you are in need of two queens vs. two doubles, there's no way to guarantee that, as while one may be able to make an educated guess as to which hotel property is showing, the hotel may offer you a room with one sofabed and one bed, it may be a different hotel than expected (one that has previously not been reported.) If you have to have two queens versus two doubles, the only "best" way of doing that is booking conventionally. That said, are you searching for 2 adults/2 kids when coming up with the results below?Additionally, the 4.5* may be a hotel without a pool. There may be a resort fee additional at the resort property; that is not listed in the HOTWIRE price.Did you check the site's HOTWIRE list for the area (Hotwir Hotel List) to see if any of these properties matched the wins that have already been reported for these areas?
michellecmc Posted April 5, 2009 Author Report Posted April 5, 2009 I did find the list of hotels and think I have identified all but one - the $140 Resort. According to the list it could possibly be the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Resort. Or is there the possibility of the Catamaran listed as a 4* instead of 3.5*? It did not list golf or spa on hotwire which had previously been identified with the Hyatt Regency so that makes me wonder if it truly is the Hyatt. Any thoughts?
AaronJB Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 If you click on the continue button for that listing on HOTWIRE and go to the detail page, click "see all amenities" - do you see additional amenities listed there beyond the ones mentioned above?
