punk1 Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 I'm trying to rent a full size car at MKE, Milwaukee in May. My bid of $22 was rejected. When I went to look at winning bids on Priceline's site Milwaukee is not listed but the winning bids for full size at Chicago and Minneapolis were both $15. Does anyone have a winning bid at MKE and if so what was it? I'd love any insight on why rental cars there are more expensive.
Colfax Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Recently car rental rates have shot way up in a lot of cities, across the board, so rates that others have won in the past don't give much guidance. The list of winning bids provided by PRICELINE is meaningless, as rates are date specific. Priceline's list says $15 was accepted in Minneapolis. Today I bid $38 in Minneapolis and got rejected. Different dates; different rates. What May dates are you looking at? What's the best conventional rate you've been able to find for those dates? What's Hotwire's rate on a fullsized car for those dates? That's the info we need to make suggestions.
