dahammer Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 I first bid $57 for a 3.5* and received a counteroffer to increase the bid by $17, but I closed this browser and re-opened a new browser using the links on the board. I bid $62 for a 3*, but forgot about this worn out property as I was hoping for the Doubletree.Your Offer Price $62.00 Taxes & Service Fees $17.04 Total Charges $79.04 This is a lesson as to why you don't increase a bid and lower the star rating, but its a same day bid and I didn't want to stay way out in Paramus and have to schlep in towards the GWB. Overall, I'm happy with this win, wifi is free unlike at the 3.5* Marriott at Glenpoint nearby, maybe I can get a free breakfast with my Priority Club card, but the staff here barely registers a pulse. The rack rate was $139. There are numerous dining options nearby including KFC, which in these parts means Korean Fried Chicken from a place called Boom Boom Chicken. If you've never had this type of chicken, its worth a stop. $12 gets you an assortment of legs and wings which have been dipped in a very thin sweet/hot batter and fried. $20 for a whole chicken. With that, you get a soda and a cup of asian radishes in a sweet vinegar marinade. There's a great Spanish place, Meson Madrid nearby as well which is where I ended up.

dahammer Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 before check out, I reviewed my folio through the in room entertainment system, PRICELINE paid the hotel $60.95 for room and tax, so PRICELINE's fee was a whopping $18.09 or 29%.
