cubsfanone
Is anyone aware of good places to look for deals in Vegas aside from Hotwire & Priceline? I've used the LA Times adds before and there are of course the other online booking agents which sometimes are good (i.e. Expedia, Orbitz, etc...). I know that many Vegas Hotels & Casinos often send out mailers to some of those enrolled in their player clubs, is there a place online where people often post these promo codes? Thanks for the help. thereuare
You may have better success posting your date(s) and desired buget (or what your current plans are) and seeing if anyone can beat your current plans.Vegas is one area where you have to really check all available resources and there is never one 'best' place for deals. one
My friend just came back from Vegas. It was one of those special times of the year where all hotels are full and only $400 to $600 rooms available. They could find and affordable room, so they bet on their luck and look for a room after they are there. Hold and below, they went to El Cortez Hotel And Casino and stayed for $50 on Saturday night. It is an ok price for regular days, but for that night, it was boiling hot. My other friend stayed in a motel for the same night for more then $100 a night. You can figure the price and quality when opposite directions. In conclusion, if you couldn't find any good deal online, just wait until you get there and get a room in a Casino for a reasonable price. Link to comment

Waiting until you arrive and walking into a hotel is one of the worst ways to get a good price. No information was given as to the price of the El Cortez beforehand so it's unknown if this rate was available thru other sources or not (or cheaper) before arrival. Even if one's friend got lucky and did get a good rate by strolling up to the front desk at the last minute, this is a sample of one i wouldn't draw any conclusions from it. Based upon seeing many different hotel bookings in Vegas, i would highly recommend booking before your arrival.
