I'm pretty new to this, only did it once before for NYC, and was wondering for some bidding advice for london

2 nights, 8th May-10th may

Would prefer 4*, 5* is a bonus.

Any area around hyde park so zones 1,4, 6 or 7

4 and 6 have 5*.

Ended up not booking NYC due to finance.

Would be great to get a hotel around $60-80 for 4*.. willing to go about $140 for 5*.

I got curious. HOTWIRE is showing 4*s in Docklands for $83 and The City for $94 for your dates. And a 5* in Mayfair-Soho for $152. Amazing rates. And one usually can do a bit better via Priceline....... Made me want to plan a trip....

If you want to move forward with PRICELINE let us know the zones you're willing to bid by priceline name (in case they add/remove zones or change the order, it makes it clearer and avoids confusion) as well as if you'd like to bid up to your limit for a 5* hotel and then if rejected lower to a 4* OR if your ultimate goal is the least expensive 4* or better for this stay.

The 4* hotels are just too far out the way, but the 5* price seems ok.

I'd really like to try priceline for the cheapest 4* before going for the 5*.

To confirm, is zone more important than price? If so, you want to try up to your maximum bid in the Bloomsbury zone before trying the next zone on the list, so-on, and so-on OR are you really interested in the least expensive 4* or better property in any of the four zones you've listed?

Please clarify and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

i think the best strategy would be to bid the from the lowest to a medium bid on each.. zone by zone... eg if $80 was an average for the top zone... do something like?

$60,65? bloomsbusry

$60,65 next zone etc etc to the 4th zone,

then go

70,75 bloomssbury?

etc next zone, to the 4th.

I think this would be best to get a good deal.

At the 4* level in London you don't have any re-bid zones, so you'll only get one bid at each zone before you need to change or add zones. Using your $80 maximum bid mentioned above i would try as follows:
