good morning from germany,

once again to the 2,5* hoboken jersey city.

you are right, its maybe better not to stay 3 nights at jfk and it seems to be a good offer.

my dates are: dec 3rd - dec 5th

hotwire price: 82usd

2,5*

animenties: fitness, kitchinette, laundry

i could be the candlewood suites and this one seems to be nice, but i looked on their homepage and i saw, that the price for a room is at 99 usd/night. so i m not sure anymore if its really the candlewood suites on HW because the price of 82 usd/night seems to be not so cheap...what do you suppose?

It is believed that this hotel is indeed the CANDLEWOOD SUITES.

I would make sure the $99 rate is cancellable, which i believe it is up until 4pm day of booking, and reserve this as a back-up (using the link above :) ). Then continue to monitor Hotwire to see if the price drops OR if the Hyatt shows up for any of your dates at a reasonable price.

You could also try to beat the Hotwire rate by using Priceline and/or try for a higher rated hotel at a similar price via Priceline. If you'd like to go that route let us know and we'll suggest a bidding strategy.

:)

it is a good strategy!!! the rate is cancelable, as you mentioned. i have to play this idea, because, i cant use PL. i talked to them and its only ok, when i got a credit card with an billing address in UK or US they told me. and i got only visa, billing germany...but nevermind, HW is ok too, so i'll stay with them...

hi!

i did it like you recommanded me: booked 2 cancelable rooms at candlewood suites for the 3 nights at 99 usd/night. now i try to get a bargain at the 3* and it seem it is the hyatt...

whats your advise? how should i try my bids. the room costs very much direct as i saw it on their page...

Thanks!

Keep in mind that the DoubleTree is also a 3* hotel in the same zone... so that is a possibility as well.

I see two different sets of dates so i'll assume that you've changed your dates since you first started posting, just to confirm you're currently looking for 12/2-12/5.

Rates do look high for your set of dates but as the Hyatt has very crazy pricing (sometimes seemingly unrelated to conventional rates), i would still try some lowball offers and work your way higher. Unfortunately you have no re-bid zones available in this area so you can only bid once and then you'll have to wait the 72 hour period before you can bid again.

I would bid $37 for your complete set of dates.

If that's rejected you can then make a decision if you're willing to SPLIT YOUR BID. If you are, i would then try again for 12/3-12/5 at the same amount. If that's rejected you could also try 12/2-12/4 but i'm less optimistic about those dates.

Next step (after 72 hours) is to repeat the process at $41/nite.

Next step after another 72 hours is to try again at $60.

Feel free to ask any question regarding the above and keep us updated as to your progress.

the pricings are crazy at this hotels at the moment. i will try it ahgain but the alternative is HW with 76 each night (sholud be candlewood). will let you know about my bids!
