Hi there, I'm new to this forum and writing from abroad...

Could you help identifying one hotel at hotwire:

3* Star at Fishermans Wharf, price is $82, from 17 to 20 May 2009.

Amenities:

Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access

Checking previous wins I believe this would be the Holiday Inn Express?

Also, did any users have any negative experience when trying to book a non-smoking room at this hotel? I know they can't guarantee one, but just to let me know about your experience...

The above is a match for the Holiday Inn so that would be my best guess.

Perhaps somebody with firsthand experience with requesting a non-smoking room will comment, but if not, the hotel has about 100 smoking rooms out of 583 rooms total, so i would think youre chances are pretty good with having a non-smoking room avaialble.

I now realize there are the Holiday Inn, and the Holiday Inn Express at the Fishermans Wharf right? How can we differentiate one from each other?

The Express has free breakfast, but I've read in a post that maybe it doesn't show up in the ammenities listed?

Both have previously been reported at the 3* level but the amenities, as per the Hotwire Hotel List are different enough that you should be able to tell them apart... the Holiday Inn Express doesn't have a Restaurant on the premises so the above property wouldn't be the HI Express.

At last report the Holiday Inn Express was rated 3* but it's showing as a 2.5* in HOTWIRE Vacation Packages now.

And HOTWIRE has a 2.5* in FW for your dates that looks like the Holiday Inn Express.

Icons: Breakfast, Fitness, Business Center, Highspeed

The 2.5* HIE is $113 though and the 3* Holiday Inn is only $79.

It was the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf!

About the non-smoking room, right after confirming the reservation, i called the hotel and tried to book the ns room...She told me that they could only confirm this at the moment of check-in, as requests from third-parties web reservations couldn't be guaranteed..

Well lets hope to have ns rooms available and try to arrive early!

Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that this works well with your plans.

If a non-smoking room isn't available at check-in it's always a good idea to ask if you can wait for one to become available. This may involve have the bellman hold your luggage for you while you go out in the city, but if you really want a non-smoking room this will let the hotel know that you're willing to wait while one is vacated and/or cleaned.
