binnenhof Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I am trying to find a decent, 2 - 2.5* hotel for my family of 4 (2 adults/2 girls 13 & 16) for July 23-27 in the Pike Center area of downtown Seattle. When using both HOTWIRE or PRICELINE, I'm not able to fill in how many persons are in my party. Ideally we want only 1 room with 2 queen (not double) beds, but how do I fill that in????? I'm only finding "how many rooms" not how many guests? All help appreciated.P.S. I am so new (joined 15 minutes ago), I cannot find how to post a topic under "Seattle Hotels".....only under the state forums. So if you could help me with that as well I'd very much appreciate it.
808travelinthru Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 From my understanding all room booked thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE is defaulted as a Double Occupancy. You can chance it and take the room and ask for upgrades when you get to the hotel. Rollaway Beds, Two standard beds......... It's a gamble though. Not to worry, I'm new too and you posted in the right area! :)
dahammer Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Welcome!PRICELINE only guarantees accomodations for two, but HOTWIRE allows you to search for quad occupancy. At the minumum, this coud be one double bed and a pull out sofa bed or a cot, according to the HOTWIRE fine print. That said, it has been my experience that hotels participating with PRICELINE and HOTWIRE will try to accomodate reasonable requests, but there is no guarantee. I've only used PRICELINE twice for family trips and on both occasions my request for two beds was met. Sometimes when traveling solo I will ask for two double beds so that I can lay my garment bag on the spare bed and not have to hang it up, and only on a handful of occasions was I denied. The trade off is not knowing the name of the hotel until you make the purchase (HOTWIRE) or have your bid accepted (PRICELINE) at a 50% or more savings. If you have a special bedding request, I would call the hotel during non busy times such as late morning or early afternoon and ask your new best friend (the desk clerk) to put a note on your reservation or to make a room assignment. You can start a topic in the Washington State forum, there is no forum for individual cities.Good luck, and please use the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to support this valuable, free resource.
