Priceline Hotel: 4* Hong Kong (Tsim Sha Tsui) The Kowloon Hotel

I decided that if I was going to jump around, I'd try one more night at the Sheraton (figured I'd stash my bags there, and just take a small bag with me). Started at $68, no go. Decided, to forget about it, and try and get the same hotel.

Started at $51, no go, then went to $55 (added a zone HK East, I *think*), and it took it. Finally two nights in one hotel. Total cost $68.92. This seems like a decent deal, the hotel has internet specials of 750 HK dollars per night (plus taxes). My net cost was $53.92 after my $15 bonus.

This is the first time I've gotten so many hotels in one zone. There wasn't much info on 4* hotels in this zone anyplace that I could find.

The Kowloon is a good hotel in a great location. Rooms a tad small last i stayed there a few years ago but very clean and impressive.

BTW pardon my ignorance, $68.92 is for 1 night?

OT: Care to elaborate a little on the bonus scheme?

Well I don't want to step on toes, as I believe they depend on some referral bonuses here but it is discussed HERE.

I booked each night seperately. Now of course, I do get hit with an extra $6 or so fee by doing this, but still figure I'm $8 or so ahead on each booking.

The room as $55, plus $13.92 fees and taxes for a total of $68.92. Subtracting the $15 I get it's only $53.92 (And actually only $52.89 since I get a 1.5% cash bonus on my Paypal credit card). It all adds up if you do a bit of travelling.

Now I just hope that the Sheraton, Nw Renaissance and Kowloon hotel are pretty close to each other. :)

No worries on the referrals, i actually used savingsbarn on my recent bookings :)

Thanks for the detailed explanation, appreciated :)

I did a check and the Kowloon, NW Renaissance and Sheraton are within walking distance to each other. NW Renaissance appears to be furtherst from the other 2 (if i recall it's about a 10 minute walk from the Kowloon) - situated at TST East but rooms do have a great sea view.

Have not stayed at NW / Sheraton but confident that the rooms are larger than the Kowloon and believe that they are higher rated too. Do post a review when you are back.

Map is provided here for your reference

OT: Sheraton appears to be the best deal of the lot based price paid off rack rates.

Couldn't agree more. The people coupled with the traffic / congestion makes it difficult to lug along extra luggage. The hotel I was in didn't even have a lobby for buses so the bus from the airport stopped by the road to let us off! :)
