  1. I'm staying at this hotel now, on a 15k Priority Club reward stay. Was given a non-smoking room that was smoked in. Then moved to a tiny room on the 20th floor. Full sized bed, when I had a king reserved. $S28 a day internet (free in biz center), expensive mediocre breakfast, and not a very good bed. I'll probably try to check out today.
  2. I looked and didn't see any listed in the hotel list. Three areas are listed as active, with either 3* or 4* hotels. I was hoping that an IC I like was one of the 4 star listed hotels. I started at $35, in April, on the weekends, which is usually their slowest times, and went up to $45, with no luck. Many 4 star hotels here are cheap, so I didn't want to go over $45, in case it was one that I could buy outright for the same or less. If anyone has any data, I'd appreciate it.
  3. A friend got stuck at SFO and I helped book a last minute room. From the amenities, I thought it was a La Quinta, but I was wrong. Amenities: Shuttle/pool/business center/free breakfast/restaurant/internet/laundry Lists TripAdvisor rating 3.5/5. Total price with tax/fee: $70.22
  4. Well, I'm not an expert on NYC, but I did make the mistake of driving into Manhattan the first time I went. Parking will be very expensive. What with the tolls into the city, and difficulty in finding parking I'd recommend against it. Many hotels in Manhattan may have small rooms, so make sure you know how many people they'll allow in each room. My first trip, I stayed in New Jersey and took the bus into the city. No problems with parking, and it wasn't too bad of a trip. I'm sure that others here can help out.
  5. I thought I had this as a lock for the Doubletree JFK, and probably not the Ramada. I get the Holiday Inn, instead. So it's no longer a 2.5*. Retail was $219. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access And I actually remembered to click on the board's HOTWIRE link! :)
  6. Has these amenities as listed in the list: Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry Weekdays were listed $10 cheaper.
  7. Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access It looks like this changed zones. I chose Hotwire over Priceline, since I was booking for 3 people. Add $14.47 for taxes/fees.
  8. This Holiday Inn is now listed as Bloomington Central-Mall of America.
  9. I have a stay coming up in June, and am thinking of being the Guinea Pig for this one, unless I find a better one on Priceline. I'll post any results.
  10. I didn't see very many bids for the airport zone of Toronto. I also didn't see this hotel on the master list. There are a couple of other Holiday Inn's in this area, the address of this one is: 970 DIXON ROAD TORONTO, ON M9W 1J9 CANADA Total with fees/taxes is: $47.16 (US). The IC website lists the rate as $169.95 (CDN) per night plus taxes. I did see mention that the hotel is going through a renovation, so that may the reason for the low price.
  11. Sorry, my first Hotwire posting. :) Here are the details: Hotel Amenities Beachfront Property is located on the beach. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Tennis Nearby Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one tennis court; an extra charge typically applies.
  12. I didn't see any info on any Costa Rica properties, and took a gamble on this one. The company does have better pricing on it's website than on any of the normal travel sites, but it's still about $10-$15 a day cheaper to book through Hotwire. This is in Playa Flamingo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Total for 3 nights was $229.13 with fees/taxes.
  13. Well, I prefer to plan ahead. I've prefer to book directly with a Hilton property, but even the Hampton Inns are at $90 or $100 a night. I'm going to get a rental car, so it's not real critical that I be in a certain area. On it's website this hotel is selling a standard room for $300. I've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn by the Airport for $70 or $75 a night (direct book) in January, but they sure bump the prices up in the summer! I did book the next night for $62. I tried $60 and no go. So it's either $61 or $62 for the lowest price. Anyone know anything interesting to do in Buckhead?
  14. I was trying to get something decent (4 star) near the airport, but not having any luck. I kept adding zones that I thought wouldn't work (no 4 stars), or they wouldn't accept such a low rate. After changing dates (adding a day, and then adding zones), I finally got the Intercontinental for this date. Since I don't have firm plans for this vacation, this will work in okay. I guess I'm going to try and add another night so I don't have to move right away.
