Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Los Angeles (Downtown) Marriott

I am traveling to LA this week. Have stayed at the Westin LAX, didn't like it. Have stayed at the Sheraton LAX loved it. Would love to stay there again for the right price. Hope to stay in a nice place that's safe for me and my daughter. Hoping to pay under $70 per night 3.5 or 4 star. Have read here that the Downtown Marriott is nice. Also read I can park across the street at the WTC to avoid outrageous parking fees... Any help would be appreciated.

You can't bid for a particular hotel on PRICELINE. You have to accept any hotel at the quality level you bid or higher. Priceline rates the Downtown Marriott 3.5*. Lately the Marriott is cominng up more often than other Downtown 3.5*, but you still could win a different 3.5* or get upgraded to a 4*.

If you're willing to accept any 3.5* or 4* in the Downtown LAX zone let us know and we'll suggest a bid strategy.

On HOTWIRE you can sometimes identify a hotel in advance by its icons. If you check your dates on HOTWIRE and see any 3.5* or 4* post the icons and someone will try to ID the hotels.

(note to thereuare: the LA Hotel List has a 4* Park Hyatt in Downtown LA zone. There's no Park Hyatt in downtown LA, and to my knowledge there hasn't been one.)

:) Thanks for your reply. I bidded $56 on Thursday morning (3/12) for a room in downtown LA 3.5 stars and 4.0. Got Downtown LA Marriott. Did the same thing in the hotel business office on Friday morning. Got the same hotel for the same amount. Worked out well as my son played in the PAC 10 tournament that weekend and all it was the official hotel for the tournament. Thanks!
