eb13saint Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Here's the thing. I booked a room in a hotel in Pittsburgh through Priceline - after trying to get something downtown even vaguely in my price range I swapped areas and got a room in an ok location, but not brilliant. I noticed on here that people were getting downtown hotels for prices that I'd been rejected at, so I tried again et voila! I got a room downtown cheaper than my original not-ideal booking. Now, I know I can't cancel the original reservation, and I'm resigned to losing that money (I've learned from my hastiness!). However, I wonder if I should contact the hotel or anything to let them know I won't be showing up - more out of courtesy than anything. I don't know if hotels feedback information to Priceline about guests who don't show up - I don't want to be blacklisted!
dahammer Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 please post the details of both winning Pittsburgh wins and we will comment further. Just as you saw the winning bids of other board members which ultimately helped you make a successful bid, your information could help someone else. :)

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 thanks for the follow up post.its really not necessary to call the hotel to advise that you won't show up, but you may try to negotiate for a future stay in case you may be back in this area. The hotel is not obligated, but it may be worth a try.
thereuare Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 The hotel won't be penalized for a 'no show'... PRICELINE is well aware that plans change and a certain percent of rooms they sell each night will go unused. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
