timmmy1 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Hi! I have bid on and stayed at the Loews Resort in Coronado as well as the Marriott Resort. Both have the same star level. This summer we want to go back and I want to bid to stay at the Loews, but is there a way I can be sure we won't get the Marriott? Is there a certain price point that distinguishes the two?
thereuare Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! With PRICELINE there is no way to target, or avoid, a particular hotel. If you're trying to target, or avoid, a particular hotel HOTWIRE may be a better option if you're able to identify the hotel offered before your purchase based upon the star rating and amenities shown by HOTWIRE.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know if/how we can be of further help. earlthepearlferrell Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 There are never any guarantees with PRICELINE. But based on past history and posted wins, I have seen (and won) the Loews anywhere from $100-$120 on the low end (including this upcoming Memorial Day weekend). People have won the Marriott, but usually for more. Again, no guarantees, but I'd start bidding at $95 and go up in $1 increments. I would also check HOTWIRE for the same dates and see if something that looked like the Loews was available before bidding on PRICELINE.
