ukdiva Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 HiI've been watching my trip dates on hotwire, and i've just recieved an email saying that i can get a 3* hotel in downtown/soho area for $79 per night. The amenites are restaurant, business centre and high speed internet connection. Can anyone help with what hotel this could be? I've never used Hotwire before, so a bit nervous about taking the plunge, but this deal fits in great with my budget as we don't really want to spend over $100 per night for a hotel. We've visited NYC a couple of times before so don't mind staying out of the usual touristy mid-town area.Thanks.

ukdiva Posted February 25, 2009 Author Report Posted February 25, 2009 welcome! can you please post your dates of travel?24th - 30th March.
thereuare Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 This property has not yet been reported to the board. However, with the 4* hotel in this zone at just $105 (best guess the Millenium Hilton) for these dates i would sooner give PRICELINE a try at the 4* level, perhaps with a $90 limit (or however high you're willing to bid) in an attempt to get a higher rated hotel within your budget. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed or if we can be of further help. ukdiva Posted March 9, 2009 Author Report Posted March 9, 2009 Thanks for your replies. The Holiday Inn seems to be the only 3* they have in that area, so i'm quite confident! If i go ahead and book it, i'll report back and post what hotel it is.
ukdiva Posted June 8, 2010 Author Report Posted June 8, 2010 Just a quick belated update! I ended up staying completely out of NYC in Jersey City at a Candelwood Suites as a friend got me a really good staff discount, but i am going back to NYC in Sept this year, so plan to take advice given here about bidding via Priceline, nearer the time of my visit :)
