relaxing41
I started out bidding for two rooms at $40. I rebid in increments of $2 so next bid was $42 etc. up until $49 which was declined. I realize other people in past got this for $45 and $55I closed browser and rebid starting at $47. I got an offer to increase bid $17 which I declined. I didn't want to bid close to $60 as the Trumbull Marriot; Merritt Parkway has accepted my bid in past for as low as $59. It was 3 star though but I didnt want to chance being bumped up.I closed browser again and started to bid $50 for ONE room. I started at 2/20 - 3/1 and again decreased bid by one date for new bid.I then bid $53 and was accepted. for 8 nights. When I get to property I will decide if i need two rooms or not!Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $53.00Subtotal: $424.00Taxes & Service Fees: $66.99Total Charges*: $490.99relaxing41 Link to comment
relaxing41
Just wanted to add that I did this bidding just one day before my check in date. The cheapest I saw for this hotel was for $75/night but all combinations include a sunday night with a rate of $133; otherwise other combinations increased the cost upward of $176/night. After my bid was accepted I rechecked other sites for rates and availability and NONE could offer a room for 2/20 anymore for this hotel! I started then to rebid for the second room - at $ 52 I was offered to increase price by $15. Since this would put me at $67 I declined because 1. I could get this hotel now for $86/night on other site and be positive I got this hotel; and 2. i don't want to be sent to another hotel for my second room! Not sure of possibility of being bumped up from 2.5 stars to 3.5 stars; but I am sure It has happened to someone!! Also When I got this offer the Trumull Marriot was in the list of hotels offering rooms for those nights so I dont want to chance it. I had an accepted offer from THe marriott trumbull for $59 and $60 in past and was bumped from 3 star to 3.5 stars.relaxing41 Link to comment

relaxing41
Yes, I am just using one room for now. I originally was looking for two rooms; after getting here and talking to my kids I decided on one room for now; they don't want to be in a separate room from me so as long as I feel they are not crowding me this will be ok. The good thing is that this room is a suite with a living quarters. I just spoke to the clerk who told me that priceline automatically puts in for a standard double bed room , smoking. She was kind enough to change it for me to a King size bed ; ;non smoking. I don't smoke and can't stand the smell of it in the curtains etc. I am still not sure if they offer rooms without living quarters. She said she is able to change the room if she wants to and has the room available. relaxing41 Link to comment
