Colfax Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Residence Inn Beverly Hills1177 South Beverly DriveLos Angeles, CA 90035I bid this the night before my stay, which is tonight.First I bid up to $80/3* for two nights, 2/13 and 2/14. No luck. $80/3* rejected in Brentwood-Westwood too.Residence Inn is $169 on 2/13 and $209 on 2/14.When I split my two nights and bid 2/13 alone I got a $17 counteroffer at $60. I added a free rebid and $65 was accepted.I tried Add a Night for 2/14 and Residence Inn had no inventory. That means I wouldn't have won both nights at ResInn no matter how high I'd bid.I bid 2/14 separately and won a hotel in Hollywood. I'll post that one separately.HOTWIRE had a 3.5* in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood for $132 and a 3* for $122. Neither of them looked like the Residence Inn.Bids placed through the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.

Colfax Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 I think ResInn gave me one of the best rooms in the hotel this time, at least in terms of view. Only the east facing rooms, overlooking Beverly Drive, have any view at ResInn. It's a panoramic view of downtown LA. Those view rooms are about 1/3 of the rooms at the hotel. The rest look into other rooms or down on an Office Depot next door to the hotel. The "02" tier in the hotel's northeast corner should be the best views in the hotel, followed by the "04" rooms. Those tiers look north and east, so you can see the Hollywood hills in addition to Downtown. The ResInn is seven stories. I was in 602. Only 702 would have been better. And no $20 tricks! When I say "best rooms" I'm not talking about room size, just view. 602 was a studio suite; the hotel has larger 1 bedroom suites too. I've stayed at ResInn several times now, all on Priceline, and I always get a studio suite. Room 600 would have an even better view than 602 but Room 600 was the maid's closet! I hope there's a window in there too.
